Thursday 28th AugustChapel Allerton Arts Festival. As we rehearse in the vibrant community of Chapel Allerton we're looking forward to taking part in their Arts Festival during Bank Holiday week.
Friday 19th September we're hosting a concert at the 7 Arts Centre. We'll be treating local friends and family to a revised repeat of July's Music Divine, with some new items.
December 2008. We plan to sing our way round Chapel Allerton one evening – not just any old carols, but Cantabile Carols. There's a strong possibility of mince pies and sherry en route.
July 2009. For our summer concerts we're focusing on French music of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. We'll be featuring Fauré's Requiem alongside some lesser-known gems and a bit of organ music. Likely venues are St Matthew's Church, Chapel Allerton and a return to Ellerton Priory Church.
For all these concerts, we'll have more details nearer the time. You can keep on eye on this page with our RSS feed.
Just for the record
July 6 2008Music Divine. For our first full concert, we were invited to Ellerton Priory Church, near York – and we started the afternoon with the first unaccompanied choral music to be sung there since about 1538 or so.
We were made to feel very welcome by an appreciative audience. The afternoon was recorded, and you can hear a preview at Advocate Recording's myspace page – just look for "All for Mairi's Wedding".
December 17 2007Winter Concert. For our debut performance, we joined eight other community choirs from around Leeds at an evening in aid of St Gemma’s Hospice.
After a rather sprightly rendition of Deck the Halls, we sang Herbert Howells' Here is the Little Door and the round Little Child. You can hear our finale, Carol of the Bells, by clicking above.
